Dark of Midnight: The Art of Anthony Romano was a 24 page art book in comic book format that was published by DarkGift Comics in May of 2020 on Lulu.com. It was a collection of art samples drawn throughout the years. Given permission to use a version of the Comicsgate trademark by Antonio Malpica, aka Cridious, owner of the trademark at the time, Anthony went ahead and put a logo on the book. The two didn't know that they had entered into a verbal license, nor that 2 years later, the book would be the crux of a long legal battle for ownership of the Comicsgate trademark, and helped win in the favor of rightful owner, Ethan Van Sciver.
Well, the original book is being discontinued in July of 2023.This remastered version is a new hard cover, with 24 more pages of art and commentary added.
